The sustainability strategy of KBC is oriented towards real societal needs and the corresponding UN Sustainable Development Goals.

KBC applies strict sustainability policies and exclusionary criteria to its business activities in respect of human rights, business ethics, the environment and sensitive or controversial societal issues.  KBC also has strong ambitions to increase its positive impact on society and the environment.
In addition to KBC’s approach towards Responsible Investing funds, KBC believes issuing a social bond will contribute to the development of the sustainable debt market and diversify KBC’s investor base.
In its Social Bond Framework, KBC identified 6 eligible asset categories which are aligned with the ICMA Social Bond Principles 2021.KBC Social Bonds can be issued under the KBC Social Bond Framework via KBC Group NV or KBC Bank NV.
